Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of FrenchWithAmine. By creating an account, booking a session, or subscribing, you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. What we offer

FrenchWithAmine provides structured 1-on-1 online French lessons for children aged 7 and up. Each session is 60 minutes, delivered by Amine over a video call. We also provide a parent dashboard with per-child lesson progress and printable homework PDFs.

2. Who can sign up

Only adults (18+) acting as a parent or legal guardian can create an account. By signing up you confirm you have the right to enrol the child(ren) you list on the account.

3. Subscription and billing

Three plans: Weekly (€79/month, 4 × 60-min sessions), Twice-Weekly (€149/month, 8 × 60-min sessions), and Intensive (€279/month, 8 × 2-hour sessions).
Payment is processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. Card details never touch our servers.
Subscriptions renew automatically each month on the same calendar day as your first charge.
Prices include any applicable Maltese VAT.
We may change prices for new customers, but existing subscriptions keep their current price until you change plan or cancel.

4. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from your dashboard via the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access to remaining paid sessions until then, but you will not be charged again.

5. Refunds

Because lessons are reserved per-child and we hold the slot for you, we do not offer pro-rata refunds for unused sessions in an already-paid month. Exceptions:

If Amine has to cancel a confirmed session and cannot reschedule, you are credited one make-up session.
If you cancel within 14 days of your first paid subscription and have used 0 paid sessions, we will refund that first month in full (EU consumer-protection “cooling-off” period).
Genuine technical failures on our side that prevented a session from happening: a make-up session.

6. Missed and rescheduled sessions

You give 24+ hours' notice: one free reschedule per month, slot permitting.
Less than 24 hours, or no-show: the session counts as used. We can't fill last-minute slots, so we still pay for Amine's time.
Sessions cannot be carried over indefinitely — unused sessions expire at the end of each billing period.

7. Conduct and child safety

An adult must be present in the home during a child's session and reachable in case of issue.
Video calls are not recorded.
If a child or parent behaves abusively, racially, or sexually inappropriately, we will end the session and terminate the subscription with a pro-rata refund of the unused portion.

8. Free trial

The optional 15-minute trial is free of charge. It does not auto-enrol you in a subscription — you must explicitly choose a plan after the trial.

9. Intellectual property

All lesson content, exercises, audio, illustrations, and software on the site are the property of Amine Hennous. You may print lesson PDFs and use them with the enrolled child. You may not republish, resell, or distribute the content outside your household.

10. Limitation of liability

We provide the service “as is”. We do our best to ensure availability and quality, but we don't guarantee specific learning outcomes (every child progresses at their own pace). Our maximum liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g. for fraud or for gross negligence causing personal injury).

11. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. We'll email subscribers about material changes at least 14 days before they take effect.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Malta. Any dispute that can't be resolved amicably will be heard by the competent courts of Malta. EU consumers retain the protections of their country of residence's consumer law.
